Makebo is one of a new breed of Russian acts taking steps on the international stage, with recent releases on Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream and Shanti Moscow Radio. With a sound rooted in the melodic, his productions are all engaging and deeply personal as he displays once again here. Peace Symphonies launched in November 2020, the brainchild of respected artist Gorje Hewek.
"You" is a near eight-minute slice of gently evolving, electronic excellence built around warm chord progressions and subtle drum programming that provide the perfect base for the ethereal almost indie-esque vocal delivery. Exquisite sound design and understated melodies make this a truly compelling affair that is as much a home listening experience as it is a sunrise beach party contender.
