Berghain resident DJ nd_baumecker has been a key voice in house & techno for years. As part of Barker & Baumecker, he has put out essential EPs and LPs on Ostgut Ton. Snax is a musician, singer, songwriter, producer, performer, and DJ who brings real character to everything he does, releasing extensively on his Random Records label and many others. The pair have previously teamed up for remixes, bootleg and otherwise, and now expand on that with this inventive release.

Says the artist of this new release, "Mandemic sprang from the concept of what it might be like if / when our world's current situation became eroticized, perhaps even evolving into a queer sex party. The only name for such a party would have to be "Mandemic", of course, and Snecker quickly stepped up to deliver its theme song."

It occurred to Snax that he knew another musician friend who would simply love to be on board with this, and that would be none other than Khan, the other half of their disco duo Captain Comatose. Together they provide the lyrical backdrop to this throbbing track for future dark rooms. "Mandemic" is a sexy house tune with pumping drums and rubbery bass. Steamy vocals add intimacy while the pixelated leads lash about the mix next to splashes of acid and plenty of FX.

Veteran DJ, songwriter, and illustrator Pete Ellison remixes with a more trippy feel. The drums are chunky, and the chords jump about while dripping with naughtiness. Fauve Records boss and lifelong crate digger Romain FX then flips the tune into a stripped-back jack track with a driving bassline. Expressive melodies remain in place to ensure maximum impact on the floor.

The second original, "Things We Got", is full of flavor from the pulsing bass, the angular drums, and sprinkles of cosmic synth. It's warm and humid with an ever-evolving arrangement that keeps you on your toes.

"Mandemic" is a typically charming and characterful new take on house music from Freeride Millenium, and once again features striking artwork from Daniel Rajcsanyi.
