The Thing Remixes by Da Mike & Lazarusman
Da Mike & Lazarusman's hit single, The Thing, gets fresh reworks on the Connected label.

Afro house pioneers Da Mike & Lazarusman's original landed on this label back in 2019 and made a significant impact. It was an instant classic in the Afro house scene thanks to its irresistible groove with deep, ephemeral lyrics musing on the meaning and whereabouts of "The Thing."
First to remix is Manoo, who had a big summer playing the likes of Black Coffee's residency at Hï Ibiza. His version comes with additional music by Bacanito and is eight spine-tinging minutes of deep Afro-house intensity. The synths are stark and futuristic, the spoken words are menacing, and the whole track always moves with a rising sense of tension.
Then comes Berlin-based JAMIIE, who brings African-inspired sounds to house music on labels like Watergate. Her rendition features loose drums, deft melodies, and widescreen cosmic atmospheres that have you gazing in awe next to the tender piano chords. Last but not least, the MANQO Remix has already had support from the likes of Adam Port and &ME from Keinemusik. It's a rolling groove with subtle feelings of celebration in the keys, a hypnotic bassline, and angelic vocal sounds.
