European house maverick Jorkes returns to Permanent Vacation with the Wisdom Of Whips EP.

Jorkes is one of the breakout stars of the last couple of years. After establishing themselves as a driving force in the Austrian scene with their Freeride Millenium label, key radio residencies, and label events, they have now made a mark with sensual disco and house sounds on labels like this one, as well as AUS and Live At Robert Johnson. The vocal LGBTQIA+ activist always centers marginalized people in their work alongside partner Daniel Rajcsanyi, who always provides original artwork for the releases.

The incredible "Wisdom Of Whip" is a joyous house trip with expressive piano chords surging over warm, pulsing drums. The keys grow more expressive and wild as they capture feelings of pure emotional release, and the buoyant bassline drives things home. "Work La Pochette" is just as peak time and pumping, this time with cowbells and raw hi-hats dancing around the drums as acid-infused synths light things up next to steamy vocals and pensive chords.
