XVII by Amotik and Janice
Amotik and Janice land on Reclaim Your City with split EP XVII this month.

Berlin-based Amotik has appeared on the likes of 47, BPitch Control, and Figure since his debut release in 2015, developing a style of hypnotic, atmospheric techno throughout his years of production. Also based in Berlin, Janice's string of self-released 12"s beginning in 2016 have led to DJ sets and live performances at the likes of Berghain, Corsica Studios, and many more.
Appearing on a split 12" together for the first time, the two producers each deliver a pair of high-impact techno tracks for Reclaim Your City. On the A-Side, Amotik's "Harangi" is a fast-paced yet subdued track tinged with emotive, evolving synthesis and shimmering soundscapes, followed by the dusty "Hara", which combines crunching textures with warped tones and heavy low end. On the flip, Janice delivers "Mass Formation Hypnosis" and "Names And Excuses". The former brings a machinic sound palette and pumping drums to the table, while the latter sees trippy FX, rattling percussion, and drifting synths to close the record.
Reclaim Your City is a Rotterdam-via-Berlin-based outlet uniting underground purveyors across the globe. Operating as both a label and respected radio show, artists who have previously appeared on the imprint include Jeroen Search, Rene Wise, Oscar Mulero, Inigo Kennedy, Héctor Oaks, and François X, while the esteemed radio show has played host to Ben Sims, Mark Broom, Ryan James Ford, MARRØN, Freddy K and many more.
