4 DJ's Only EP by St. David

Radio Slave launches a new imprint, REK'D, with an EP from St. David called 4 DJ's Only EP.

Rekids, founded by Matt Edwards, aka Radio Slave, in 2006, expands its roster of labels with the launch of the sublabel REK'D this October. Marking its first new imprint since the creation of its Techno-focussed RSPX in 2017, Edwards introduces REK'D with the release of St. David's "4 DJ's Only EP," featuring three standout House tracks.

Rek'd is an opportunity for us to release no-messing dancefloor House EPs from a variety of artists without the schedules, expectations and time it takes to drop a release on Rekids. St. David kicking off the label with an EP called "4 DJs Only" couldn't be more perfect.

St. David's "4 DJ's Only EP" starts with "Phonky Beat," which features rhythms that swing and shuffle below jackin'-style vocals and energized whistle melodies. It's a peak time cut, perfect for outdoor dance floors or late-night club moments, all while "Terrone's Groove" slows things down to a classic 90s house groove. A quirky synth-line and infectious bassline work effortlessly together as larger-than-life vocals alternate a tongue-in-cheek sample.

Closing out the release, St. David showcases Garage influences in "Just A Dub" with more quality drum work, police sirens mixed with cut-up vocals, and plenty of power behind the bass. St. David's "4 DJ's Only" is an excellent display of versatile, modern House music coated in nostalgia.

Italian DJ, producer, and Theory Of Swing Records boss St. David joins Rekids following music on labels like Snatch! Records, Heist Recordings, and Cinthie's DJ-Kicks mix. His tracks are inspired by the timelessness of the 90s, with artists like The Martinez Brothers, Jovonn, and Chris Stussy supporting St. David throughout their sets.
