Cunty by Honey Dijon X Kevin Aviance
Two legends of NYC's nightlife, Honey Dijon and Kevin Aviance, join forces to recreate the seminal track, Cunty, on Classic Music Company.
An icon of New York City nightlife, Kevin Aviance's "CUNTY" is a record woven into the rich tapestry of the NYC Ballroom scene. "This track represents so much more than music; it's a cultural statement," explains Kevin, who now teams up with the inimitable Honey Dijon to deliver a new version for 2024 dancefloors, following Beyonce's use of the track as a sample on her GRAMMY Award-winning album RENAISSANCE.
Kevin is a true icon of nightlife. He follows in the footsteps of such legends as Sylvester, Grace Jones, Boy George and Pete Burns. I’m so happy he is getting his flowers as his artistry has had an indelible impact from the underground club scene to ballroom culture. It’s an honour to collaborate on this house music anthem that celebrates the vibrant frequency of the queer children of colour!
Honey Dijon
Embodying all the record stands for; beat, snatched, and glamorous as one would arrive for the Harlem balls, the combination of these two stalwarts of the scene comes as a full circle moment, having moved in the same circles since the 90s. Bursting with the electric, infectious energy of both artists, the record matches the boundless energy of Honey's DJ sets for an unmissable release on Classic Music Company.
