Exit Festival 2025
EXIT Festival takes you to the State of EXIT - a place woven from the emotions of everyone who has set foot on the Fortress, where miracles happen, and the brightest star is YOU!
Exit Festival, the internationally acclaimed summer music event, is gearing up for its monumental 25th anniversary from July 10th to 13th, 2025, at the historic Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad. However, this milestone year arrives with a poignant backdrop, as organizers have indicated that this could potentially be the festival's final edition in Serbia due to escalating political pressures.
Born from a student movement in 2000, fighting for democracy and freedom in Serbia and the Balkans, Exit quickly outgrew its initial home in University Park. By 2001, it had settled into the magnificent Petrovaradin Fortress, a setting that has since become synonymous with the festival's unique atmosphere and sprawling multi-genre offerings. Over the past two and a half decades, Exit has consistently championed its founding mission: to achieve social change through music. This commitment is evident in its continued focus on environmental and humanitarian initiatives, fostering creative industries, and promoting regional cooperation.
The festival's journey has been nothing short of legendary, drawing over 1,000 artists across more than 40 stages and zones each year. Its esteemed roster of past performers reads like a who's who of global music, having hosted icons such as Pet Shop Boys, Billy Idol, The Cure, The Killers, Guns N' Roses, Franz Ferdinand, Motörhead, Iggy Pop, David Guetta, Massive Attack, Liam Gallagher, Grace Jones, Fatboy Slim, Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, The Prodigy, Migos, Sex Pistols, Kraftwerk, Korn, Moby, Arctic Monkeys, Chemical Brothers, Faith No More, LCD Soundsystem, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Pulp, Jamiroquai, M.I.A., Slayer, Ellie Goulding, Hardwell, Carl Cox, Avicii, Nina Kraviz, DJ Snake, Charlotte de Witte, Paul Kalkbrenner, Amelie Lens, Solomun, Artbat, Maceo Plex, and Boris Brejcha.
For its 25th anniversary, Exit Festival has already revealed an exciting initial lineup. Fans can look forward to powerhouse performances from electronic music titans Eric Prydz and Tiësto, bringing their signature sounds to the fortress. Punk legends Sex Pistols ft. Frank Carter are also confirmed, promising a raw and energetic show. Other notable acts announced include Indira Paganotto B2B Sara Landry, The Boomtown Rats, Hurts, Loreen, DYEN b2b Nico Moreno, and Gloryhammer, among many others across diverse genres. DJ Snake, who delivered an unforgettable set in 2021, is set to return to the Main Stage on Sunday, July 13th. The festival will also host a rare global exclusive with Solomun's DIYNAMIC STAGE TAKE-OVER at the Dance Arena on Saturday, July 12th.
However, a cloud hangs over this celebratory edition. Recent statements from Exit organizers indicate that their public support for student-led anti-corruption protests in Serbia has led to significant financial and political pressures, including cuts to government funding. This has prompted the difficult consideration of relocating the festival outside of Serbia after 25 years. Dušan Kovačević, the festival's founder and director, emphasized that "freedom has no price" and that their stance is to defend not only Exit but the fundamental right to free expression for all cultural actors.
While the future beyond 2025 remains uncertain for Exit in Serbia, the festival is determined to make this 25th anniversary "the most emotional and unforgettable yet." With its rich history of promoting social change through music and a stellar lineup poised to electrify the Petrovaradin Fortress, Exit Festival 2025 is set to be a powerful testament to its enduring legacy and a global statement for freedom and unity.
Tickets for Exit Festival 2025 are currently on sale through the official website and authorized vendors. Attendees should be aware of specific ticketing requirements, including nationality restrictions for some ticket types and the need to exchange vouchers for wristbands upon arrival.
Don't miss the chance to be part of what could be a truly historic chapter in the Exit Festival saga.
