This ambitious project explores new musical paths while highlighting the richness of his influences and artistic collaborations. After recent releases on labels across Europe (Pont Neuf, OATH, Disco Express, theBasement), he returns in 2025 with his most accomplished work to date.

The journey begins with "Tonight's Ride", an invitation to a nocturnal adventure tinged with disco and dub. On this powerful and captivating track, KX9000 invited American singer Nic Hanson, based in Paris, to add his unique voice. "We met through Tour-Maubourg, who had recorded some tracks with Nic. Listening to his voice, it was clear: I absolutely wanted to work with him on this track. He came to the studio a few weeks later, and the chemistry was immediate," says KX9000. This first track of the EP, both energetic and sensual, opens the door to KX9000's universe.

The EP then takes a more complex and nuanced musical direction with "Nuova Zone". In this second track, featuring Corsica One, KX9000 dives into a sonic realm where Latin-jazz piano harmonizes with a bouncy bassline. "I met Alessio (Corsica One) in the studio to mix some of his tracks. We quickly connected because we share the same influences, from Azymuth to Kaidi Tatham. He's a jazz virtuoso on the piano, we had a lot of fun, and I'm excited to collaborate with him again. I also invited the drummer and bassist from the Gin Tonic Orchestra to add some parts to the track, which gives it the feel of a joyful (and harmonious) groovy mess," explains KX9000. This track is a fascinating fusion of several musical influences, creating an atmosphere that is both dynamic and joyfully chaotic.

"Dream Log" is a journey through different atmospheres, a reflection on how music can capture emotions and specific moments. Each track on this EP tells a story, with collaborations that enriched this project and made it even more alive. I really wanted to translate into music all the artistic excitement I felt when meeting all the artists I had the chance to work with on each track.

The story behind "Lost E Shop" emerged from an unexpected discovery: an unused sample from the Nintendo Switch store, found by fans and unearthed from the source code. KX9000, captivated by this melody, decided to transcribe and transform it with his machines. He adds, "I've been a huge Nintendo fan since childhood, and this melody totally hypnotized me when I came across it. It created a bit of a gargantuan vibe, which we reworked with my friend Victor Gasq on guitar to give it an epic feel, like Masayoshi Takanaka or Jean-Luc Ponty." The result is a hybrid track that blends electro-funk and city pop influences, creating a truly unique sonic universe.

The next track, "Over Fee", took several years to find its current form. Originally a downtempo ballad, it gradually evolved over time to become a soulful epic. "I was lucky to rework it with Donovan 'Skyleo' and Nic Hanson, who returned to lay down some vocals. This track really synthesizes the DNA of the EP," says KX9000. The collaboration with Skyleo, with whom KX9000 had already worked on several previous projects (2L84ME, Manual User), adds a sense of camaraderie that gives this track its musical power.

To close the EP, the final track "Deepose Minute" plunges us into a more club-oriented universe with a deep house approach in the style of Larry Heard. "It's a track that served as an outlet and allowed me to return to the simplicity of a deep house universe that is dear to me," concludes KX9000. This track was created using his old Juno DI, which allowed him to craft a retro atmosphere perfectly suited to the vibrations of the dancefloor.

KX9000 embodies the richness of the French electronic scene, drawing inspiration from a multitude of genres such as electro-funk, space disco, Chicago house, broken-beat, and city pop. Praised by Mixmag as "one of the most remarkable producers of his generation," KX9000 skillfully weaves together all the elements that matter to him, creating music that is as complex as it is satisfying. For years, he has defended this music in the best clubs, from the Rex Club to the IBOAT, Sisyphos, Goya, and festivals such as Marvellous Island, Madame Loyal, or Insula. After several EPs across Europe, he is back in 2025 with Dream Log, his most accomplished project to date, featuring numerous talented artists.
