Heavy Metal EP by Ōsé

Returning on Patrick Topping's Trick for his second solo outing following his 2022 "One & Only EP," Ōsé brings his darker-leaning take on house & techno to a new high-octane three-track EP. Born and bred in Chicago, the up-and-comer has dropped numerous releases on quality labels such as Arcane, Relief, and his own 5150.

Heavy Metal isn't just a genre of music; it's an attitude and how you carry yourself. It's being authentically yourself, whether you're a rocker, raver or somewhere in between. For my latest release, "Heavy Metal," I wanted to showcase a wide range of sounds, genres, and feelings that represent me.
Ōsé

The title track, "Heavy Metal," wastes no time in bringing rave-ready energy with its deadly acid-licked bassline and distorted monotone notes before "Lend An Ear" cranks things up a notch, combining driving kicks and bass with claustrophobic synth work. Closing out the EP is the aptly named "7 Minutes In Heaven," a seven-minute techno workout utilizing swinging percussion and ominous vocals.
