Insimbi by Deep Narratives, Culoe De Song & ZVRI

Khayelihle Ngcobo and Mpumelelo Sithole have risen the ranks of their native scene to become key new school players. They hold radio residencies, have played at the country's most significant events alongside Black Coffee, and run their popular parties. At one of them, they booked internationally renowned Culoe De Song, who has long been known on the world stage for his fresh house rhythms on labels like Innervisions, Soulistic Music & Mule Musiq. As such, it made sense to reach out to him for this first release, and completing the collaboration is Durban's Gqom star ZVRI.

Together they have cooked up "Insimbi," which has already been getting significant reactions. It is a track with an epic build-up and taught synth energy. The broken Afro drums eventually arrive with warrior synth leads and steely hits that demand tribal dance moves. Heavy percussion and vocal fragments sit next to futuristic pads, making for a real sense of drama as this unfolds.
