"I've got a bf (best friend)" came together quickly after I rediscovered a bunch of NZ reggae/roots tunes that I grew up on. I was inspired to create something that captured the same dub essence with some nostalgic sax. I could instantly hear its potential for a fun vocal overtop and knew niina would be perfect for it.

Willo explores the dualities of deep and moody yet uplifting and emotionally driven electronic music. She is drawn to the idea of eclecticism and makes and plays a blend of house, breaks, and tech, all with her signature atmospheres. She is a rising force in the Australian underground who has played at big festivals like Splendour In The Grass, Beyond The Valley, and Lost Paradise.

When Willo first sent over the instrumental to this it instantly clicked. I loved the coolness and playfulness of the track. I just wandered around my room singing the melody and the lyrics seemed to come naturally with the personality of the track.

Her collaborator here is creative director, DJ, and producer Niina, an artist who centers a female-led message of confidence. She makes music with irresistible pop sensibilities and rushes of spontaneous euphoria that never fails to light up the club.
