Keep On Rockin' by The Checkup

The Checkup is a proper house head on a never-ending search for rare 90s house records during his worldwide travels, which feed into his fresh sound on labels like Nervous, Madhouse, and his own Heattraxx. The Berlin-based talent has caught the attention of house dons from Kerri Chandler to Honey Dijon, with some of his productions gracing the likes of the Panorama Bar dancefloor and forthcoming releases on Kaoz Theory and House Puff, he now returns on Riva Starr's Snatch! Records for three sublime housers.

"Let's Talk" opens with perfectly well-swung drums enriched with old-school US house vibes, chord stabs, and a sultry vocal. The superb "Keep On Rockin'" brings a more percussive sound with toms sprinkled over a raw house groove, with balmy pads and steamy female vocals that soften the edges of this sun-kissed house cut. Lastly, the physical drum workout of "Get Movin'" is another subtle nod to the 90s but with modern designs and an irresistible bassline topped off with emotive vocal stabs.
