Motivo EP by DJ Dextro

Since the early '90s, Portuguese artist DJ Dextro has landed on CLR following a vast discography on labels like UNCAGE, Planet Rhythm, and Portugal's very own Naked Lunch Records. He's also a prolific remixer, reworking music from artists like The Advent, Scuba, and Drumcomplex. With the "Motivo EP," DJ Dextro shows his decades of experience with two detailed techno compositions, which rightfully find their place on Chris Liebing's celebrated CLR imprint.

DJ Dextro's "Motivo" EP on CLR begins with the first part of the title track, in which dubby synths swish and roll between thudding kicks while sturdy claps keep the rhythm. "Motivo 1" is a powerful techno tool that is smooth, has a deep and dreamy atmosphere, and is perfect for late-night trips. "Motivo 2," on the other hand, lends to the darker side of techno, its low-end bubbling among alien machines as its sequences ride and click along the drums, making for a potent and hypnotic club track.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerged in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists like DEAS, Shlomi Aber, Drumcell, Truncate, and more while also focusing on developing newer acts in the scene such as B. Riley, The Southern, and Klint.
