My House with DJ Hell
The legendary DJ Hell lands on Lady Tazz's Mind Medizin imprint with My House.
German icon DJ Hell will always be synonymous with laying the foundations for electroclash. He has also long since combined the worlds of fashion and electronic music, and his International DeeJay Gigolo label has played a vital part in shaping underground sounds for decades. This unequivocal industry visionary and "anti-superstar" DJ continues to find new ground to explore in the worlds of techno, electro, and house, as shown here on his first single for Lady Tazz's label.
The timeless "My House" is pure and unadulterated club music with rigid drum loops and taught synth twangs. There is a menace in the dark, loopy vocal fragments, and acid twitches bring the track to life in signature Hell style. It's a perfect blend of texture and groove and instantly takes you to the heart of a strobe-lit dance floor.
Remixer Tal Fussman's music is a distinctive fusion of house, jazz, and intergalactic '80s disco. Now based in Berlin, he has worked on the likes of Cognitive Prophecy, Rekids, and Compost Records. His remix is more stripped-back, with a raw percussive groove, coarse claps, and sparring use of the vocals. It's edgy and eerie and brings an alluring undertone of dystopia to the party.
