particles, coarse by GRDN.
With particles, coarse GRDN. continues his deliberate journey toward the outer edges of electronic sound.
The album thrives on a raw, glitch-infused, and organically textured sonic language that deliberately rejects conventional song structures. The title itself - particles, coarse - evokes a tactile quality of sound: rough, unpolished, and vividly alive.
Stylistically, the tracks span droning ambient landscapes (Klosterhardt, Brilon, Münster, Hiesfeld), glitch-driven electronica (Atlantic City, Greifswald, Dortmund, Klagenfurt, Braga), and organic, almost jazz-tinged compositions (Brunswick, Indianapolis). Despite their diversity, each piece is unified by an experimental spirit and a deep sensitivity to sonic texture.
The place-based titles are more than mere references - they serve as emotional coordinates, atmospheric markers in a sonic atlas. Each track unfolds as an acoustic topography, navigating between digital fragmentation and analog warmth.
particles, coarse is not background music. It demands attention, invites exploration, and rewards with moments of raw beauty and immersive depth.
