Silver City present Tilo Daze / See Through EP

Next up on Home Breakin Records is Silver City, the studio collaboration between Julian Sanza and Fernando Pulichino and a duo mainly associated with UK label 2020 Vision before now. Remixes come from Tad Wily and Neighbour and ESB.

The Argentine duo have been busy making music that fuses disco to house with lashings of funky stylings for more than 15 years now, and were two key members of the 2020 Soundsystem project with Ralph Lawson. Now focussing on work as a duo once more, this new EP proves they still have a truly unique sound.

‘Tilo Daze’ opens the EP in humid and sunny style with organic instrumental licks brushing up to louche drums. Breathy vocals float up top and twinkling melodies rise up through the scale to add plenty of colour to proceedings.  Silver City then turn in a remix of their own track, a much more direct house cut for late night dancefloors that kicks that bit harder.

Tad Wily, a frequent collaborator with Jay Shepheard on his Retrofit label, brings his unique disco flavours to the table on two great remixes. The first is as the name suggest a boogie delight with raw, gauzy bass note stabs and dazzling synth lines, whilst the second is less colourful and more down and dirty for sweating dancefloors.

‘See Through’ is the next original from Silver City, and this one is a scintillating, seductive and slow burning cut awash with lots of chords, dazzling melodies and gurgling, bubbling basslines. Breathy vocals add the all important human element to what is a truly sumptuous and multi-layered jam. Again Silver City remix themselves, turning the track into a more beat driven and ‘floor focussed offering that has a killer bassline riff front and centre, and last but not least label regulars Neighbour and ESB repackage the track with classic piano stabs, lazy percussion and plenty of late night romanticism.

This scorching EP is perfectly timed for summer and is an essential package for lovers of inviting house sounds.
