What is the perfect car for a Road Rally or Road Trip?

What kind of car you need depends on your destination, the kind of trip you are making, and how many people you will be bringing with you. Things to always consider is how likely you are to need a 4-wheel drive car, a car with high ground clearance, or even a convertible for those Thelma & Louise moments in the movies. Make sure that you plan well in advance, choose unlimited mileage, and get insurance, because you never know when you might need it (if you are renting a car).

If your trip is going to be a long one, a couple of weeks or more, you might want to consider buying a used car and selling it when you're done. Just make sure you get it checked and serviced before you set off - the last thing you need is a breakdown in the middle of nowhere or never to reach your destination.
