Fast-rising Mexican-born DJ/producer KinAhau will unveil his most ambitious project to date on 1st May with "Triple T" - a thirty-track collection of records spanning genres, styles, and influences, showcasing the exciting 20-year-old's journey to date having launched himself into the global spotlight over the past eighteen months.

From his breakthrough single "Turned Turk" on Solid Grooves in 2022 through to the release of "Different Side" alongside Audio Bullys and Michael Bibi, becoming one of 2023's biggest records, his rapid ascent has come heavily intertwined with the mentorship provided by Solid Grooves founder Bibi over recent years - while his recent Revival New York debut with "Subject Study" and outings on Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound has since solidified his position as one of the scene's most-talked about up-and-comers.

However, with "Triple T" he takes things even further and heads outside of his comfort zone to curate and showcase a deeply personal journey, offering an in-depth collection of 30 records that represent his sound, past, present and future, delivering signature productions as well as leftfield curveballs.

A couple of weeks after I started working with Prime Culture, late in 2023, my team called me and said, "Hey, we have a crazy idea, but we love crazy, so we will make it work." The idea was Triple T, and it consisted of, "let's pick your most special records and put them out every day of a month." I was very hesitant at first. I think as a 20-year-old who is trying to make space for himself in the scene, the natural path that has proven to work over the years is to make normal beats, put them out once every couple of months on the relevant labels, and hope you'll get booked based on that. But if there's one thing I always looked up to about the team I am blessed to be working with, it was the maverick spirit. Years ago, I'd look at what the artists I admire so much were doing and tell myself, "Wow, they aren't following any formulas or any trends but making their own. I want to do that." Not everyone likes it, but normal has always gotten old quickly, and doing things your way has never been out of fashion.

So I thought, “fuck it, let's not do normal”. Once the core of what we wanted was clear, the rest of the body was left to build. We had probably over 400 records from which to choose. Between all those, probably around 200 were releasable, and maybe 100 were ‘good enough'. From those hundred records, we could have chosen the dancefloor no-brainers, but I couldn't help wondering if that's how I wanted to be remembered years from now. Who knows If I'll have the chance to do music in ten or twenty years. I might be dead, and all these stories and anecdotes that construct who I am are worth sharing with others. As I said, who knows if I'll have the chance to tell these tales tomorrow... I only have today, so I might as well put them out now.

When you open a book, see a film, read a poem, or see a picture, you are experiencing the walk through the world of others. I think we love and appreciate art because it connects all of us since no one is experiencing anything alone. Some cases are more abstract than others, but ultimately, I love art because it helps me connect and understand myself and others.

With the core of Triple T (a name reference to both my managers and my favorite film, Berlin Calling) defined, the whole project was clear. Triple T is what I want to look back at years from now and remember what it was like being 15 and feeling excited about a new world full of possibilities. What it was like being 17 and discovering a new genre (for me) that I wanted to be a part of. What it was like at 18 and saying goodbye to my family to try and achieve my dreams. What it was like being 19 and having one of the biggest records of the year in your genre. What it was like being 20 and realising that you're not a teenager and life starts to get real. It's what I want people to look at and remember, and it's what I want another 15-year-old to listen to and think, “Hey, If this dude thinks that what's in his mind is good enough to share, maybe what's in mind is too, so I'll give it a try.
