This Tehran-born artist grew up between his homeland and California and mixes up the musical heritage of both in his work, from jazz to rap to rock, as well as drawing on a love of cinema and video game soundtracks. His work for the Dirtybird label helped to put his sound on the world stage, and he has also dropped music on Play It Down, Toy Tonics, and Yoshitoshi while DJing around the world. Now, he joins forces with Walker & Royce's Rules Don't Apply label, an imprint that has been making waves since its launch back in 2021.

When I first met my creative partner Jean Michel LaPointe in Tarzana, "Inspector Jack" was one of the first songs produced at the legendary studio. We are both avid fans of classic movies from the 60s through 90s and me, being a huge fan of Inspector Gadget and grew up watching it as a kid in Farsi. We thought it would be cool to produce a song that felt like it had the energy and gave a wild cinematic energy in the most organic way possible. Having real instruments was a game changer and something I had not done in this calibre, we really went full Lawrence of Arabia on this one. It's one of my most grand experiences making music.

The results on "Inspector Jack" bear that out, with Jean Michelle laying down a brilliant bassline embellished by live playing from the amazing Brandyn Phillips Brass Quartet. Over that dynamic and chunky low end are all sorts of mystic trumpet sounds that bring a sense of organic intrigue and unusual charm, while the cheeky sample from the kid's TV show is sure to get huge reactions. All in all, this playful tune, with its jazzy horn stabs and pumping low ends, is sure to become an absolute anthem this summer once the festival season comes around.
