Inference EP by Rectør

Istanbul's Rectør, another artist who incubated his Symbolism relationship on the label's 2021 Synchronicity compilation, drops four heady, peak-time techno tracks for Ben Sims' storied imprint this month.

The ‘Inference EP’ opens with "Flawed," a stripped and swinging cut that counterpoints a shuffled drum track with minimalist pings for a healthy dose of heads-down funk. The titular track follows and builds on its predecessor's tonal qualities, adding cyclic melodies and percussion to an echoic lead that bounces over a pulsing, addictive beat.

"Introspection" takes the "Inference EP" into darker territories but retains the funk of ‘Flawed’ and, with the nifty use of clipped synths, makes for an urgent, pushing pace. Closing out, "Temper" sees Rectør go full pelt with a tense, endlessly shifting groove.
