La Tengo EP by Milan
Milan brings a rich tapestry of influences from Europe and South America to a new EP on Repopulate Mars.

Milan hails from Los Angeles but imbues his music with references from his mixed Colombian, Ecuadorian, and Greek heritage that makes his take on House incredibly rich, with elements of R&B, Cumbia, Salsa, Dembow, Rap, and more, all adding color and following recent material via labels like Sola, Why Not Us, Terminal Underground, Drop Low, and a slew of support from influential names like Solardo, Wade, Gordo and Mason Collective, Milan enters 2025 in fine form with an incendiary debut for Lee Foss' Repopulate Mars.
First up is the punchy "La Tengo," with its stripped-back beats and prickly percussive details. Rapped vocals ignite the groove, while wonky synths and percolating pads all make for a bustling sense of energy. "Toma Que Toma" is another sizzler, this time with careful layers of drums all looping under rolling snares and steamy vocals. This standout trio of tracks closes with "Bad Bitch," a late-night sound with minimal drums and roaming, rubbery bass that brings the funk. Add steamy vocalizations full of attitude and glitchy textures, and you have a perfect piece of irresistible body music.
