Just what the doctor ordered, Uppers and Downers is a new imprint expanding the musical universe of Berlin-based DJ Dr. Rubinstein. After a decade of traveling the world and honing her craft, one of the planet's most esteemed acid curators and rave DJs establishes a record label to present print-in-wax the feelings of ecstatic joy and togetherness for which Dr. Rubinstein has become renowned.

More than just the new go-to source for timelessly essential rave tracks, Uppers and Downers will overflow with righteous drumrolls and 303s, affirming the rave as a feeling that emerges on the ideal dance floor, where anyone can truly feel at home.

The idea behind the label is my own personal journey as an undiagnosed autistic person. Growing up, I could never find my place or feel at home anywhere. The very first feelings of home - of belonging and mutual understanding - came to me on the dance floor, and I have never looked back! When I started DJing, I was able to channel this feeling of home to dance floors all over the world in my sets, and after years of doing so, I feel ready and inspired to do the same as a music producer and label curator.

This launch also marks the Doctor's ascension to the producer's seat, with "Rubi's Acid Spa" - an aggressive 3-track EP she's been crafting over the past two years - serving as the inaugural cut. Apart from her creations, Uppers and Downers will collect and feature music that resonates with Dr. Rubinstein's lifelong quest for the perfectly tuned rave space, one in which ravers feel understood, uplifted, and elevated beyond the everyday world.
