One half of Spanish duo Wow & Flute, known for their releases on Spinnin' Records, Nervous and Stereo, and their remix work with Danny Tenaglia and DJ Chus, Riki Ustrell begins his new solo project Ustrell for 2022. This June, Lugano-based label 3-4-1 Cuts welcomes the Barcelona-born Swiss-based DJ and producer for his eclectic house EP "Runaway".
Vibrant basslines and stirring vocals combine with rolling percussion and anthemic organs in "Runaway (Original Mix)", before tight snares, elastic tones, and choppy harmonies take the reins in the "Wired Mix" serving up a dish of glossy pads in this swung affair. To close, the stripped-back "Spectrum Mix" unfastens throbbing low-ends, ravey stabs, warped samples, and timely drum rolls in this brooding finale.
