Harry Romero returns to Nu Groove with a two-track dose of sonic excellence, "The Monk / Shoot Your Shot." A native of New Jersey with an impressive catalog of fiery Latin house heaters, cool underground club cuts, and driving remixes of house greats, Harry Romero's legacy as a certified house master is well documented.
Returning to cult label Nu Groove Records following the previous 2021 release "I Love / The City," Romero delivers another one-two punch of polyrhythmic goodness; "The Monk" carries a metropolitan feel complete with sporadic retro synth patterns over an addictive guitar funk, while "Shoot Your Shot" is dubbier with a hard, loop-based feel. Both tracks illustrate Harry Romero's mastery in the studio, with expertly produced basslines and Latin percussive flicks decorating the tracks with ease.
