Following 2022's "Motion EP" for Ben Sims' Hardgroove imprint, Swedish techno legend Samuel L Session and Belgian mainstay Van Czar leap to sister-label Symbolism for the "Bones EP" this month.
Adeptly applied distortion, a bare-bones rhythm track, and a relentless acid line make for a whacking opener in "Morning Debris" while the contrasting and spotlessly clean, arp bassline fuelled "Marked Spot" delivers equal intensity as the EP unfolds.
Title track "Bones" doubles down on the "Marked Spot" lively bottom end, lifting the filter and unveiling a synth line you won't forget in a hurry before "First Man", closes the "Bones EP" with a spacey minimalist for early mornings in dark basements.
