Hailing from Toronto with Egyptian and Canadian roots, emerging DJ/producer Farouki is an interesting name that is making his move within the global electronic music scene. Crafting a fresh sound, he's captivated dance floors in cities like Miami, New York, Montreal, and beyond. With releases on labels such as DPE, Mood Child, Rawthentic, and Of Unsound Mind, his productions have gained widespread support from figures such as Marco Carola, Skream, Paco Osuna, and Stacey Pullen. Now, stepping up for his label debut on Pullen's Blackflag Recordings, Farouki unveils his "Freedom To Be EP," a two-track outing brimming with energy, intricate rhythms, and a fusion of old-school and modern influences.

While I was making this EP, I felt complete freedom! I try to play with sounds that have inspired me, and I can say this EP comes from an old-school hip-house flavour with a modern beat. For the B Side titled "Peeple," I had the idea in my head for a long time and just manipulated the vocal sample the way I wanted to hear it. It is definitely an iconic sound that I put my touch on.
