More Time EP by Stanley Kubrix

LA-based Stanley Kubrix serves up the next release on the South of Saturn imprint with the EP, More Time.

Stanley Kubrix is an expressive North American artist who channels the famously obsessive qualities of the renowned director into his hypnotic grooves. His meticulously crafted sounds have come on the likes of Klaphouse Records, Safe Music, and Slightly Sizzled. With a debut EP which topped the Beatport charts, it's easy to see why Kubrix is making a name for himself in the underground scene. He returns now with his latest offering on Lee Foss's South of Saturn.

The fantastic "More Time" is a mid-tempo house track with vast kick drums that sweep you up from the off. Swirling pads bring warmth and soul, while a cleverly filtered vocal has a nagging sense of emotion that sticks in the mind. It's a perfect mix of the physical and emotional. Then, "La Playa" amps up the pressure with more compelling drum work overlaid with a yearning female vocal injecting exotic flavors while the melodies work their magic up top.
