Not Too Serious EP by Lidvall
The Oviedo, Spain-based artist Lidvall unleashes Not Too Serious EP, a five-tracker on the Symbolism label.

Lidvall's "Not Too Serious EP" on Symbolism is an intense, machine-funk end to the label's 2024 schedule. It sees the Oviedo-based artist masterfully build on releases for the likes of Soma, Edit Select, and Mord this year alone.
"Morphine" opens the "Not Too Serious EP" with breathy, reverb-driven effects morphing around a plucked melody that tunnels through the track with hypnotizing flair. "He Scares Me" treads a percussive path, where even its synths remain drum-shaped, while "Too Serious!" goes full-throttle with unsettling arpeggios and a relentless groove. "String Theory" and its slip-slide hook underpinning a thundering rhythm track makes for peak time fun, while closer "Gothic" call-and-response riffs add yet more gut-punch impact on an EP that's not short of power.
