Born and raised in Miami and currently residing in nearby Orlando, Mateo Acosta, aka Slugg, is a Florida favorite and a bubbling name making a statement within both cities' nightlife scenes - exemplified by recent appearances at the likes of iii Points, EDC Orlando, Floyd, and The Ground. Harnessing hip-hop influences and pairing them with slick, rolling, and percussive beats, his productions have quickly found favor with heavyweights such as Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, and Joseph Capraiti. At the same time, his own label, getbusy, has rapidly blossomed into a go-to imprint for many since its launch in 2022 while carrying and representing the sound of the 305 on a global scale.

Following a string of impressive releases in the past year via respected labels like Reecords and Andhera, his next project sees him journey back to his roots, as he unveils "Pimpin' Ain't Easy" - a ten-track mixtape via getbusy showcasing his sound to the fullest and epitomizing exactly why he's held in such high regard as an up-and-coming name to know of, set for release at the end of April.

From the playful adlibs scattered throughout to the infectious samples, bumping basslines, slick percussion grooves, and sprinkled influences spanning house, Jazz, and beyond, the ten tracks across the project deliver that classic mixtape flow and format synonymous with rap and hip-hop while also bringing a collection of impactful cuts made for the dancefloor.

Accompanying the ten tracks, audiovisual fun comes in the form of a unique visualizer and a continuous mix of the whole project. Inviting viewers on a journey through time, drawing inspiration from the gritty, DIY aesthetic of 90s home videos, the visualizer serves as a testament to Slugg's prowess as a multidisciplinary artist - seamlessly blending the realms of audio and visual artistry into a cohesive and captivating whole packed full of nostalgia with a contemporary flair. Load it up, kick back, and relax; Slugg's got you covered...
