Reduction Pt. 2 by Marcal

Marcal makes his return to Rekids Special Projects with the EP Reduction Pt. 2.

The Brazilian producer's second release for the label sees him follow up September's DVS1, Truncate and Noncompliant supported "Reduction Pt. 1" with five more powerful cuts which perfectly fits the Rekids offshoot's grittier, fully techno focussed remit.

"Sentinel" opens the release with a tightly wound energy that is sustained throughout all five tracks. While Marcal constructs undulating, nagging grooves, it's his use of barely tamed synths, FX, and vocal snippets that give the classic techno frames real character as they shoot around the tracks with a distinct life-of-their-own feel.

Following releases from the likes of Hemka, P.Leone, Shinedoe, and SRVD, Rekids Special Projects has proved it's worth as a punchy sister imprint, and "Reduction Pt.2" is yet another uncompromising missive from the Berlin-based outfit.
