Schumann Resonance 7.83 Hz by Desna

Now five releases into her new artistic journey and vision, New York-based DJ/producer and label owner Desna's explorations into integrating healing frequencies within underground dance music have led the innovative and creative talent to the forefront of a genre entirely her own. The creation of Frequency Made Music, both a label and movement, has so far seen a range of frequencies explored, from the "god frequency" 118Hz to the creativity-inducing 111 Hz on her recent remix of Tin Man's "Evaporated Acid."

A new frequency is introduced as the focus shifts to 7.83 Hz. The baseline frequency at which the Earth vibrates, also known as the Schumann Resonance, is experienced most by those away from urban environments. This EPs intention is to achieve the grounding feeling experienced while being in nature while dancing anywhere, delivering a pair of hypnotic productions backed by a typically impressive remix from Brazilian techno favorite Amanda Mussi.

Title track "Schumann Resonance 7.83 Hz" is a tunneling, earworm of production as skittering percussion guide warping and twisting low-end tones and dubby chords and eerie vocal murmurs for a mesmerizing trip down an ever-changing rabbit hole of textures and sounds.

Next, Amanda Mussi's take on the production harnesses the hazy textures. It reinforces them with regimented kicks and icy hats to launch into new territories before the second original, "Our Mother Earth 7.83 Hz," delivers a classy slice of deeper material spanning melodic-leaning house and techno territories and showcasing yet more sides of Desna's growing sound.
