Releasing on the likes of Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, and his own Dark Side Of The Sun label, DJ/producer Luuk Van Dijk arrives on Jamie Jones' Hottrax imprint for the first time with the aptly titled "The First Time EP".
"The First Time" leads the release with snaking acid lines and snappy drums featuring vocals from Newcastle singer/songwriter and Hot Creations affiliate Mizbee, whose previous collaborators include the likes of Jansons, Maxinne, Supernova, and more. "Jus' Listen" follows, opening with airy pads and choppy percussion, with piano chords and bouncing low-end keeping up the momentum.
"Up North" sees an amalgamation of glitched-out FX and warbling bass meet delicate atmospherics for a trippy late-night house jam, before "Don't Mess" closes the EP with bubbling synth hits, rolling basslines, and vocal chops.
