Ghetto Drums by Carlo Lio & Nathan Barato

Toronto heavyweights Carlo Lio & Nathan Barato deliver two house numbers entitled Ghetto Drums celebrating one year of their Rawthentic imprint.

Pairing up for the first time since inaugurating Rawthentic with "Mainframe EP" last year, Lio and Barato have enjoyed a successful year running the label with releases from RareTwo Inc. (DJ Sneak & Tripmastaz), AJ Christou, Caleb Calloway, Vibe Killers, Matt Tolfrey, and more. When not helming Rawthentic, both Canadians are known to release on labels like Hot Creations, Saved, and Mindshake, not to mention performing at the world’s best venues such as DC-10, Amnesia, and fabric.

"Ghetto Drums" kicks things off with low-pitched vocals and spiraling synths, which build into a bubbling bassline and expertly structured percussion, before the euphoric vocal chops and lush chord stabs of "Strip Club" meet an infectious hi-hat and pumping beat.
