Sereen EP with Kaap
Kaap debuts on Heist Recordings with the five-track Sereen EP, backed by K-Lone on remix duties.

Kaap has a deep love for the old-school, hardware-driven sonics of early 90s Detroit Techno and Chicago House, yet with his own contemporary spin that has taken him to esteemed labels such as ÆX, Intercept, and his co-owned Amsterdam collective De Lichting. The Dutch producer's upcoming debut on Dam Swindle's Heist label reads like another love letter to the sounds of a bygone era with his forward-thinking touch across four vintage House cuts featuring a silky remix from Wisdom Teeth co-founder K-Lone.
The opener, "Poor Man's Paradise," kicks off the EP and instantly shows Kaap's ability to marry rugged machine sounds with musical synths. It's an effortlessly cool vintage Deep House gem brought to life by classic neon chords, edgy synth leads, and captivating vocals before the title track, "Sereen," dives into old-school techno territory, delivering a seven-minute odyssey through trippy acid textures and a mammoth euphoria-filled breakdown. "Can't Believe" is a proper nod to the deep, utilizing a wall-rattling kick drum, delayed synth stabs, and chopped vocals to make for a loopy affair perfect for all hours of the night.
On the digital flip, established studio wizard K-Lone steps out on Heist for the first time, turning his hand to a remix of "Poor Man's Paradise." He works it into a velvety smooth groover where dreamy pads and neon lines swirl skyward next to intricate daubs of color and a well-worked vocal. Last of all, "Body Dripping Sweat" closes out proceedings with raunchy vox, acid licks, and deep rolling drums.
