Shadow Child featuring Takura presents Friday

UK producer and DJ Shadow Child has had a momentous 18 months, from releasing his 23 EP on own nascent Food Music imprint, the mighty So High via Moda Black to the landmark String Thing via Dirtybird.

Alongside these tracks there’s been some outstanding Shadow Child remixes for artists such as Hot Natured – Reverse Skydiving, Sub Focus – Tidal Wave, Drumsound & Bassline Smith – Through The Night, Alix Perez – Annie’s Song, Lianne La Havas – Elusive and forthcoming London Grammar – Strong.

Singer / songwriter Takura is no stranger to UK ears having collaborated with massive names such as Chase & Status, Rhianna, Plan B, Sub Focus, Example, Jack Beats and Kano. On Friday Takura delivers a huge feel-good, crossover chorus hook that complements Shadow Child’s on point, driving, deep house beats perfectly.

Friday comes correct with a package of big remixes. Drum & Bass heavyweights The Prototypes deliver a high energy D&B workout - listen via UKF here. Whilst hot new duo Maison Sky drop a techno banger, and Shadow Child himself delivers a stripped back VIP in the form of
his ‘Re-Fri’.

House Music legend MK, fresh from his recent UK no.1 remixing Storm Queen 'Look Right Through', delivers a stunning remix of Friday in the form of his 'Medicine Dub' that received a world exclusive first play from MistaJam.

Friday is the lead track from Shadow Child’s debut album Collected. Released on NewState Music / Food Music, Collected chronicles the productions, remixes and collaborations of Shadow Child so far and features further exclusive new Shadow Child singles alongside unreleased remixes.
